Training Offered for Families of Special Needs Students

Nonviolent crisis intervention - a CPI specialized offering

Parent and Guardians of Special Needs student(s) are invited to participate in Sharing Strategies a Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training program on Monday, March 9, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Evergreen Elementary library. Evergreen Elementary is located at 900 W Franklin St. Registration is required for this event, space is limited. “A Really Big Shoe” Benefit Concert of Homeless and Needy Students

Entertainment Explosion is presenting their 9th Annual “A Really Big Shoe 9” concert on Sunday, March 8, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts in Olympia.  Tickets range from $10-$20, depending on seating.  The theme this year is “Rockin’ to the Jukebox – 1950-1985.”  The concert benefits homeless and needy kids in eight school districts in the South Sound.  For more information and to buy tickets, visit their website:  http://entertainmentexplosion.org

The 2015 Legislative Session could be one of the most challenging in decades. The reason is education funding.
The Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction has created materials (including a short video) that explain the basics of education funding and the State Supreme Court case McCleary v.
