Welcome Back to School at CHOICE
(Date Posted 8/30/2015)
We are looking forward to the start of the 2015-2016 school year. All CHOICE day program students will be meeting in the auditorium on Wednesday morning at 7:55 a.m. for the first day of school. Transitions and CBE students will meet with their advisors one-on-one to schedule classes during the first week of school; if you do not have a check-in appointment yet, please call the school to set one up.
On the first day of school there will be a picnic for all students and their families. It will be located in the school auditorium if it is raining, or outside by the basketball hoop if the weather is sunny.
All of the CHOICE staff members are excited to welcome our students back for a new school year. Please call our office at 426-7664 if you have any questions.
Change in Programs
(Date Posted 8/18/2015)
CHOICE staff have recently made changes to the names and purpsoes of certain programs. These changes are the result of an intensive school improvement process that included input from students and parents. The program formerly known as HPA 9-12 will now be known as Transitions. The Re-entry program will be known as Opportunities. For details on these pages, please visit our classroom page.

Dear Parents and Community:
Greetings. I hope your summer has been a time of relaxation and a time to also enjoy family and friends.
I am writing to express how grateful and excited I am to initiate my first year as Superintendent of the Shelton School District. I greatly appreciate the opportunity to serve our young people and our overall community.
From my past experience as a teacher, coach, high school principal, assistant superintendent and superintendent, I have a strong belief in people and what true collaboration can achieve. United, we can go where others only dream.
Our goal must be to continue a vision that all students will graduate with the skills and confidence to reach their hopes and dreams and in doing so not only compete on the world stage but win.
We as an educational community must continue to increase our involvement in our children’s future in order to ensure success for all. I am convinced the Shelton community has what it takes to confirm success for our students PK-12 and beyond.
I am committed 100% to achieve the very best for our children. Let’s move forward together towards a spectacular school year. I wish you the best.

Revised School Calendar for 2015-16 School Year
(Date Posted 6/22/2015)
The school board approved a minor change to the 2015-16 school calendar at their June 11, 2015 meeting. Washington State has scheduled November 3-5 for HSPE testing. That schedule conflicts with the previously scheduled early release days on November 5th and 6th for conferences. Those two early release days and conferences have been moved to November 12th and 13th.
