Project AWARE Update
(Date Posted 1/20/2016)
Project AWARE

Project AWARE is in the 2nd year of the 5 year grant. We will soon be surveying students, families, and staff with the annual School Climate Survey.

Sarah Ellsworth The Shelton School District Project AWARE lead was recently featured in a NPR story "To Prevent Addiction in Adults, Help Teens Learn How to Cope."

Project AWARE brings together students, parents, educators, mental health providers, local law enforcement and juvenile justice agencies, as well as other community-based organizations, to talk about mental health promotion, school climate and violence prevention. The Shelton School District and its partners are working to create a safe school environment that provides mental health services to students in need, addresses violence prevention, and establishes safe school policies.

For more information regarding Project AWARE visit the Shelton SD Project AWARE website.  The site is updated with newsletters and upcoming events.
