Course Description:
The sports medicine class provides the student with the knowledge and principles of athletic training. The emphasis of the course will be the prevention and management of exercise/sport injuries and conditions. The class work includes practical hands-on application in the following areas: prevention, treatment, rehabilitation of sports injuries, taping and wrapping of injuries, first aid/CPR, emergency procedures, and sports medicine careers.
Prerequisite: Health, may be taken concurrently with health

Course Description:
This course offers opportunities for application of skills in dealing with injuries of team members in various sports training programs. Students acquire on-the-job experience working with coaches, athletes, team physicians and other health care professionals.
Prerequisite: Taken concurrently with Sports Medicine.
