Stagecraft/Technical Theatre Lab
Grades: 10-12; one semester course; 0.5 credit(s)

Course Description:
This class meets after school two days a week and at miscellaneous events. Stagecraft/Technical Theatre is a "hands on" class. Included in this class are set design, stage lighting, theatrical sound, special effects, set construction, scene painting and much more.
Prerequisite: Prior and/or concurrent enrollment in Stagecraft/Technical Theatre.


Stagecraft/Technical Theatre

Grades: 10-12; one semester course; 0.5 credit(s)

Course Description:
Students will study stagecraft techniques for theatre, music and community events. Stage lighting, theatrical sound, special effects, set construction, scene painting and more are covered. This class can be repeated for credit.
Prerequisite: None. A basic theatre course would be helpful.


Theatre II, III, IV

Grades: 10-12; one semester course; 0.5 credit(s)

Course Description:
Students will continue to develop and practice theatre skills through the study of various theatre techniques. Topics could include children's theatre, puppetry, improvisation, mime and movement, dialects, the various styles of acting and play production.
Prerequisite: Theatre I (Intro to Theatre)


Theatre I

Grades: 10-12; one semester course; 0.5 credit(s)

Course Description:
In this course students will be introduced to basic acting as well as the structures, varieties, and history of drama. The students will develop basic acting skills through the use of theatre games, improvisation, voice projection, acting exercises, and scene work.

Introduction to the Arts

Grades: 10-12; one semester course; 0.5 credit(s)

Course Description:
An overview course incorporating the study of art forms which could include visual arts, music, theatre and dance to aid students in understanding, appreciating, and communicating effectively through the arts. This class offers the student a safe environment to experiment with the arts.
Prerequisite: None.
