Course Description:
Students will be tested to determine course placement. This course is designed for students who need more intense intervention to be successful in geometry.

Pre-Corrective Math

Grades: 10-12; full-year course; 1.0 credit(s)

Course Description:
Students will be tested to determine course placement and may not self-select the course. The focus of the course is to improve math skills. Students will work on number sense, one-to-one correspondence and simple addition/subtraction. Student work is individualized to each student's functional level.

Essentials Writing

Grades: 10-12; one semester course; 0.5 credit(s)

Course Description:
Students will be tested to determine course placement and may not self-select this course. The focus of the course is to improve student writing skills. Students will write paragraph and multi-paragraph essays using specified format. A focus of the course will be on the skills needed to successfully prepare for state assessments.

Occupational Living Skills

Grades: 10-12; one semester course; 0.5 credit(s)

Course Description:
Students will practice care of their living space, cooking, household cleaning, laundry, vacuuming, dusting, dishes, food storage, personal hygiene and vocational exposure and time management.

Corrective Reading A and B

Course Description:
Students will be evaluated to determine course placement. This course is designed to increase word attack, word recognition, fluency and comprehension in reading. Additionally, written communication is explored and practiced. It may be repeated for credit.

Social Studies Living Skills B1 and B2

Course Description:
Social Studies Living B will include modules that will increase the student's ability to function within their local community and is designed to equip the student for meeting state requirements in Social Studies. (PNW, World Studies, US History and Civics)

Course Description:
This lab science course will be project-oriented and designed to offer a variety of curriculum across the health, safety and sciences. Topics include: proper nutrition, hygiene, strategies for emergency preparedness, awareness of various systems within the human body and physical sciences.

Basic Art

Course Description:
Students are exposed to a variety of artistic avenues, including making clay, drawing, coloring and food presentation, collages, decorating, personal presentations such as comedy, poetry, dancing, singing and group art projects, etc.

Course Description:
This class is designed to teach pre-academic and language skills such as name and letter recognition; ability to follow one-step directions; correspondence, cause and effect, matching, categorization, pattern recognition and verbal concepts related to position in space, quantity, color, size, shape, name and function. Picture exchange cards and some ASL may be taught with the verbal language. Class may be repeated for credit.

Adaptive PE/ Leisure Skills

Grades: 10-12; full-year course; 1.0 credit(s)

Course Description:
This course is designed to encourage the importance of activity for the development of the student's physical, mental, social and emotional capabilities. Through the use of organized games and activities, the student should increase their ability to interact appropriately with others, share, take turns, and identify favorite physical activities. They will learn to make appropriate choices for leisure time activities that promote a healthy lifestyle.
