CHILD FIND (K-12)
Child Find
A component of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA 2004) that requires school districts to locate, identify and evaluate all children with disabilities ages birth through twenty-one, who are in need of early intervention or special education and related services.
School-Age: Kindergarten age through twenty-one years
(All children entering kindergarten must be five years old by August 31 of the current school year.)
Child Find activities are extended to students who are home schooled or attending private elementary or secondary schools located within the Shelton School District boundaries. To refer your school-aged student please contact your child's school. Find contact information for you child's school.
