Identification Process for Hi-Cap:

 October-December 2018 - Call for nominations/referrals will be open October 30, 2018 to December 14, 2018     
 
  • Notices & Literature located in school offices - available to all families and teachers.  
  • Referral forms, parent permission forms, etc. are located to the left under "Forms"
  • Parent Rating Scales (SIGs) completed - (High School only)
  • Teacher Rating Scales (SIGs) completed - (High School only)
  • Previously identified students – no further testing necessary.
  • Notices in Mason County Journal and staff e-Update – students may be referred from any source.    
 
December 14, 2018 - DEADLINE: Referral Window Closes
 
                        (Signed Parent Nomination/Permission and Teacher Scales/Checklists Due)

 
December 2018 - Screening of all 2nd graders on-line using the CogAt Screener
 

 
January 2019 - Testing of Referred Students at all schools - Schedule TBD
 
    • Academic Achievement (ITBS) - Grades K-8
    • Cognitive Ability (CogAT) - Grades K-8
    • SIGS Parent and Teacher Scales - Grades 9-11
 
March 2019
 
  • March 6, 2019 - MDT Selection Committee/students identified who meet criteria-Administrators notified by 4:00 pm
  • March 25-29, 2019 - Notification to families and teacher
