Shelton's Dual Language Program

Dual Language Program

Shelton School District Dual Language Program K-4th Grade

Applications are accepted for grades K-4th grade.

Forty slots are available with each kindergarten cohort, and slots may open up in grades 1-4 due to attrition. Once students are accepted into the program, they retain the option to stay enrolled in the program until the completion of fourth grade. If there are more than 40 applicants, a lottery process will run in the spring for initial assignments. Those who remain on the waitlist will be contacted as slots open up.

Families considering application to the dual language program should evaluate whether their student's primary language is a fit for the program. Research shows that a strong language foundation in one of the partner languages (English & Spanish) sets students up for success in a dual language program.

Submission of this form does not mean acceptance into the program. Acceptance into the program will be communicated in June of 2026 for the 2026-27 school year, or within two weeks for families submitting after August 1, 2026.

Please note, transportation for students residing outside the Evergreen Elementary attendance area will need to be provided by families.
