Starting on Wednesday, March 18, Bordeaux Elementary School, Evergreen Elementary School, and Olympic Middle School will ALSO be serving FREE breakfast and lunch to students and community members who are 18 years and younger in a ‘grab and go’ manner from 9 a.m-noon, Monday-Friday.

On Friday, January 24, Bordeaux Elementary School and Shelton High School embarked together on an exciting and unique program called STEAM Fridays (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) for the third year in a row. This is a unique collaboration between Bordeaux Elementary and the Shelton High School CTE Department (Career Technical Education) in which fourth-grade students get an opportunity to choose from a menu of CTE electives including construction, welding, automotive, engineering/robotics, natural resources, photography, art, stagecraft, culinary arts, and student store.

AP District Honor Roll
Shelton School District Placed on the College Board’s 10th Annual AP® District Honor Roll for Significant Gains in Student Access and Success
01/09/2020
Shelton School District is one of 250 school districts in the U.S. and Canada being honored by the College Board with placement on the 10th Annual AP® District Honor Roll. To be included on the 10th Annual Honor Roll, Shelton School District had to, since 2017, increase the number of students participating in AP while also increasing or maintaining the percentage of students earning AP Exam scores of 3 or higher. Reaching these goals shows that this district is successfully identifying motivated, academically prepared students who are ready for AP.

In just 3 short weeks, $7,444.65 has been raised for #Kameronstrong! Mt. View Elementary partnered with Officer Lawson and asked students, families and the community for their help to raise funds for Kameron and his family as he undergoes treatment for neuroblastoma. Thank you to everyone who played a part in raising this money! A shout out goes to Officer Lawson for being the best role model for our students, and to Cali Cutz for the haircuts! We are so grateful for our community that has rallied together to support Kameron. We are #SheltonProud!

Congratulations to the Shelton Schools Foundation grant recipients!

The Shelton Schools Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of their 2019-20 school year grant awards. Four staff members from throughout the school district applied for a grant funding totaling $1963.46. The Foundation is a 501-c3 organization whose members are community volunteers. Fundraising for grant projects is accomplished primarily through donations. The Foundation was able to fund all requests.

Santa came early to the Shelton School District! We received three donations totaling $8,211 that will go towards any debt accumulated prior to families qualifying for the free/reduced meal program! This is a huge relief for those families during the holiday season.

Olympic Middler schoolers get a glimpse of budgeting and making wise financial decisions

Olympic Middler schoolers got a glimpse of budgeting and making wise financial decisions during the Financial Reality Fair hosted by the Shelton High School DECA, marketing club. Fifth and sixth grade students participated in a hands-on activity where they received a monthly income and had to make financial decisions based on their needs and wants. Volunteers from Our Community Credit Union acted as “Financial Counselors” to the students as they completed their workshop. A huge shout out goes to Our Community Credit Union, Peninsula Credit Union, and SHS DECA for your collaboration!
