SSD Officially Launches New LogoThe Shelton School District is excited to officially launch a new logo and tagline for the district. The old logo, an abstract human book figure, has served our district well for many years but no longer represents SSD’s current reality or vision for the future.

Over the 2021-22 school year, the district underwent a process of developing a five-year strategic plan, Shelton Success, which included creating a new logo as part of creating a stronger brand identity for the district’s vision. The new logo was created based on the research conducted while developing Shelton Success, where we heard from over 1,000 SSD, community members, students, parents, business and community leaders, and district employees.

The new logo draws inspiration from the district’s vision of the future, which is for young people to discover, research, and launch their own best futures by inspiring, challenging, and empowering all students. It features a banner reading “Shelton Success,” and the tagline “Inspire - Challenge - Empower” which comes directly from the vision and mission. It also features an open book that represents education and the importance of literacy, which drives the district’s priorities. The core of the logo features mountains and trees representing Shelton’s beautiful geographic location. The logo is comprised of different shades of blue, honoring the previous logo and where we came from, as well as a pop of orange representing a bright future for our schools.

old logo vs. new logo

You may have noticed the new “Shelton Success” logo appearing places as we work on phasing out the old logo. SSD will continue to phase out the old logo, tagline, and colors to have the new logo fully incorporated by the beginning of the 2023-24 school year.
