As the Shelton School District approaches the final year of our current strategic plan, we are excited to share many successes and an opportunity to plan what public education looks like in Shelton well into the future. Thanks to the commitment and hard work of our students, staff, and community, we have achieved a great deal, demonstrating the power of thoughtful planning and collective effort. We are ranked #1 in Washington State for growth in early literacy; student attendance is up district-wide, and our community passed our levy with overwhelming support, demonstrating its strong belief in our schools and the work you do every day.
Looking ahead, we are excited to continue building on this momentum and invite you to play a key role in shaping the future of the Shelton School District. We are forming the Strategic Plan Steering Committee (SPSC) to help guide our district’s direction over the next five years. Your experience and insights would be invaluable as we collaborate to chart our next steps, informed by feedback from the entire Shelton community.
The SPSC will meet up to five times, starting this month and through March 2027. Sessions will be scheduled in the evenings and possibly online to accommodate busy personal schedules. The first meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 22, from 4:00 - 5:30 PM, at Mt. View Elementary School.
