      <title>Shelton School District Statement on Political Clothing in the Classroom</title>
      <description>
			    &lt;img src="https://www.sheltonschools.org/UserFiles/Servers/Server_16522437/Image/News/2025-26%20Photos/logo%20square.png" /&gt;Recently, a situation occurred in which a staff member was asked to not wear clothing displaying political content while at work. We understand this has raised concerns among students, families, and members of our community. The district respects employees’ First Amendment rights and appreciates the staff member’s cooperation. State law and district policy require that employees’ personal expression not interfere with the learning environment. These guidelines apply to all staff, regardless of the viewpoint or topic, and are designed to help maintain a constructive and welcoming learning environment for every student.

      <title>Budget Realignment</title>
      <description>
			    &lt;img src="https://www.sheltonschools.org/UserFiles/Servers/Server_16522437/Image/News/2024-25/Budget%20Realignment.png" /&gt;As we come together to work toward change in how public schools are funded in Washington state, we will navigate the challenges of budget realignment and work toward a sustainable financial future for the Shelton School District. We believe in the importance of transparency and open communication. This webpage is designed to provide our students, families, staff, and community members with accurate and up-to-date information about the budget realignment process, the factors driving these changes, and the steps we are taking to minimize the impact on our educational programs and services. We are committed maintaining the high standard of education that our community expects and deserves, including our gains in 3rd grade reading and writing scores. We encourage you to engage and partner with us as we move forward together. Unfortunately, as you can see by the list of articles at the bottom of this page, the budget challenges that Shelton SD is facing reflect the same issues that countless other districts across the state are experiencing. For additional questions or comments, please send us an e-mail at sheltonbudget@sheltonschools.org.
