Open Enrollment begins March 1, 2025

Students who live within SSD boundaries and who are NEW to SSD

  • Every student in Shelton School District is automatically assigned to their attendance area school, based on where they live. Families of students in Kindergarten – Grade 4 can also request that their student attends a different school through the Open Enrollment/Transfer Request Process. *Please note there is limited space at Bordeaux Elementary and Mt. View Elementary for transfers and boundary exemptions.
  • If you are unsure of your assigned neighborhood school, use the Interactive Boundary Map or call (360) 426-1687.

Get an enrollment packet

  • Use the links at the bottom of this page to download the packet in either English or Spanish. The packet has fillable pdf forms if you do not have access to a printer.
  • Pick up a packet at your neighborhood school or at the District Office - 700 S. First St, Shelton, WA 98584
  • Request a packet through mail by calling 360-426-1687 and leave a message stating your request and providing a mailing address.


Complete the forms and gather documentation
Your student will be enrolled once your completed registration packet is received.

  •  These forms and documents are required: 
    • Enrollment Form
    • Wellness Assessment Health History Form
    • Ethnicity Form
    • Medically verified immunization record
    • You must provide proof of a student’s age (such as a birth certificate, passport, an entry in a family bible, an adoption record, an affidavit from a parent, a previously verified school record, or any other document permitted by law).
    • You must also provide proof of the family’s address. We accept bills (gas, electric, cable, water/sewer, garbage) showing the name(s) of the primary guardian(s) and the address where the student is being registered. We also accept a rental agreement/lease or insurance statement, or escrow papers or mortgage statement.
  • These forms are optional:
    • Indian Student Eligibility Certification Form for Title VI Indian Education Formula Grant Program - 506 Form
    • McKinney-Vento Housing Transitions Program Form


Submit forms and documentation to the student’s school

Completed paper registration forms may be returned one of the ways listed below. We do not accept faxed enrollment packets. 

  • Drop-off, mail, or email your assigned neighborhood school. Please note that CHOICE and Cedar require additional placement processes to be complete before enrollment.
