In-District Transfers: Those living within SSD boundaries who would like to request a transfer from one elementary school to another or to attend the Dual Language Program at Evergreen Elementary (In-District Transfer form) *Please note there is limited space at Bordeaux Elementary and Mt. View Elementary for transfers and boundary exemptions.

  • Previous attendance in a school other than your neighborhood school does not guarantee automatic placement.  All completed in-district transfer requests will be considered, but not guaranteed. Only applications received on time will be added to the waitlist if space is still available, and admittance from the waitlist will be re-evaluated on August 1st. 
  • Transfer Requests may be completed one of the following ways:
    • Download a form below
    • Request a form through mail by calling 360-426-1687 and leave a message stating your request and providing a mailing address.
  • Completed paper Transfer Request forms may be returned one of the following ways:

Out-of-District Transfers: Those living outside of SSD boundaries or those who would like to transfer to SSD (Choice Transfer Request form) *Please note there is limited space at Bordeaux Elementary and Mt. View Elementary for transfers and boundary exemptions.

  • Previous attendance in SSD does not guarantee automatic placement into SSD.  All completed out-of-district transfer requests will be considered, but not guaranteed.
  • Out-of-District Transfer Requests may be completed one of the following ways:
    • Download a form below
    • Request a form through mail by calling 360-426-1687 and leave a message stating your request and providing a mailing address.
  • Completed paper Out-of-District Transfer Requests forms must be returned to the student’s resident district.



Dual Language Program - Lottery Process

All students in kindergarten and 1st grade have the option to apply for the Dual Language Program. Those who apply will be entered into a lottery, which is a random selection process, to ensure all students have equal opportunity.

Students in grades 2-4 may also apply for the Dual Language Program and may be selected based on open seats.

Release Transfer (Choice Transfer Request form)

  • Parent/Guardian is requesting for student to attend another school district (other than Shelton)
  • This does not include online schooling
  • Complete Choice Transfer form and submit to Shelton School district or request online at https://eds.ospi.k12.wa.us/ChoiceTransferRequest


Online Alternative School Programs (Choice Transfer Request form)

  • Students reside within Shelton School District boundaries and wishes to transfer into an online alternative school program.
  • Complete the Choice Transfer form and submit to resident district (the district the student would attend based of off their physical address) or submit online at https://eds.ospi.k12.wa.us/ChoiceTransferRequest
